If you want to become a real estate agent then you have to obtain a real estate License. You have to complete the required education and you have to pass the license exams. You have to pass the real estate school exam and you have to take a state exam.
Once you pass these real estate exams you will be licensed as an inactive sales associate.
to become an active sales associate, you have to find an employer (a licensed real estate broker) and you have to file the information with the Division of Real Estate (DRE).
There are two types of Real Estate Lisences:
The Sales Associate License - someone who performs real estate services under the direction a broker.
The Brokers License - this license is required if you want to open your own real estate brokerage business and hire other agent / sales associates to work for you.
