I once saw a report on ABC TV re a US Real Estate Developer that subcontracted with a Chinese company that made the dry wall. The issue was that those new homes had a strong stinch emited by the chinese dry walls (sheetrocks), especially when it rained. Those homes were being sold for a bundle unbeknown to the new buyers that the chinese dry walls were made with environmentalyy unsafe, very cheap, contaminated and asbestos ridden materials (sub-standard or much lower grade compared to US made building materials China happens to be a country where laws and regulations regarding environmental hazzards are not really enforced because they are in direct conflict with their economic expansion. That is why even some kids toys are sometimes deemed unsafe here in the US I suggest you google the topic for better details There was lawsuit against that builder, who in turn sued the chinese company.
