Woody Says...
Today I am suddenly faced the issue of Chinese Drywall.
I am shopping for a new home in south Florida and my Real Estate agent told me that the Real Estate property I am interested in my have Chinese drywall
I heard about the issue of damaged Chinese drywall in homes built as early as 2001 but I didn't think it would become my problem
Now I need to know more about it because
I stumbled upon a condo built in 2001 that was sold once for more than $200, 000 and suddenly it's on the market for $21, 000
It is in a beautiful area, 2 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, granite counter-top in the kitchen, with stainless steel appliances
It looks to me like a great opportunity but there is a possibility that it may have been built with Chinese Drywall, we don't know yet
I was thinking that even if I buy the condo and gutter the entire place, it may still be a good guy, this condo will be worth a lot of money when the market goes back up but
That Chinese drywall issue is scaring me
What do you know about this
If you are a Real Estate expert or if you've had issues with Chinese drywall in your own property, perhaps you can share your thoughts with me.
