Fouye Real Estate > Information about Real Estate > Real Estate In Haiti Nowadays, Haitians have less money to pay rent or to buy a house, yet housing costs have doubled, even tripled, since the Earthquake. Renting in Haiti is more expensive than rent in Brooklyn.
Not only is housing more expensive in Haiti, the entire cost of living has gone up, according to a a recent article published by the Associated Press.
Here is a clip from the article that may surprise you:
"One senator put up his three-bedroom with panoramic views for $15,000 a month... Finding anything similar for less than $5,000 is a steal... Want to buy? A three-bedroom with guest apartment lists for $900,000."
Do you believe this?
We're talking about a 3-bedroom house in Haiti!
In the United States, real estate agents use a method called comparable market analysis to calculate the selling prices of a real estate property but in Haiti no one knows what method is used.
Question:
Would you buy a 3-bedroom house in Haiti for $900,000?

It has nothing to do with Lavalas, it has everything to do with corruption, every Government we had, had corruption. Haiti is susecptible to corruption bcuz when u come from so little or u r surrounded by those who has little allows u to want to either get what u never had even if u r selling your soul or do the same to keep what u have Someone has to be on top, Someone has to be on the bottom! $ is power

This sounds like Hokus Pokus. We have a duplex for rent 20mins from the Int'l airport within a secure courtyard - advertized on the net - with not even one inquiry in the last six months. Yes the cost of living is high - especially food. See Haiti rentals under Viviun.

That is why no one should not vote for any Lavalas candidates. Whether it's Yves Cristalin or Jude Celestin. All of them are members of Government workers. We need to chose BAKER to fix this mess lavalas has cost Haiti for decades. NO MORE LAVALAS

It is ridiculous Like i said before and ill say it again everything start with Government... If you don't have a strong Government in place to Govern most likely everything that happen will be Chaotic... You have to see it this way Haiti is a country, with no guideance of how an individuals run it business or property, you as the owner of the business or property you can price your merchandise as you please.. it is the unfortunate who can not afford to buy it so be it.. it is not your problem eventually someone with the right amount of cash will be able to buy it because so much corruption and drug dealers are able to come up with the money nobody cares, and question our living status.. it is what it is?
